3ds Max as you've never seen it! (Vol 4/5) You will start by mastering UV coordinates and UVW mapping then applying 2D/3D textures. The first excercise will be on environments after having studied backgroud and spherical environments. Other aspects will be covered such as Camera mapping, UVW Xform, Map Scalers etc. You will finish off with the Normal Map and using the DirectX Manager.

3ds Max as you've never seen it! (Vol 1/5) Follow the Autodesk certified instructor, Jean-Yves Arboit, in his step by step tutorials to master the fundamentals of 3ds Max. Train yourself on the basics of this industry leading 3D application. You will cover manipulation of 3D objects, project, layer and group management, snapping to angles & grids, basic 2D & 3D modeling, advanced creation techniques, using compound objects and the secrets of Loft.
Master materials and lighting of your scenes. This Training DVD starts by putting you in command with a modelling excercise after explaining the theory behind light and shadow. You then go on to study different light sources and how they affect shadows cast, then apply the techniques to a number of typical situations. You will then go on to master the techniques for manipulating materials and how they affect light reflection and transparency.
Understand and master the use of splines, modifiers and all the techniques that will allow you to easily model with 3ds Max. Subjects covered include : use of polygonal tools; modelling helpers and FFD; automatic duplication and distribution; mirrors and symmetry; extras such as meshes and vertices; using splines. Some home work exercises are provided for you to get "hands on" experience.
This training session starts by studying the Rendering menu and goes on to apply environmental effects (atmospheric, fire...). You will then study Scanline, RayTracer parameters and Gamma/LUT setup. You will go on to Render Elements basics followed through with more intricate cases and finish off with Combustion pratical and an introduction to OpenEXR. The next step will be to go into Sub-Pixel information such as G-Buffer, velocity blurring, Z and RPF. You will also study Render preferences such as Output Dithering, G-Buffer, Multithreading etc.
